CREATED AND TAUGHT BY CHILD PSYCHIATRIST:

“Dr. Arielle Rubin is, in short, incredible."

My son, who had autism spectrum disorder, went undiagnosed for many years, until Dr. Rubin uncovered his condition, and soon began to work her magic.

Not only did she equip him with a diagnosis that changed his life, but she connected him with resources that revolutionized our family. She became a confidant to him, a friend, a highly experienced clinician, and his guardian angel.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Arielle Rubin and what she has done for our family.

What my patients are saying:

“Dr. Arielle Rubin has become a valued resource and partner in the psychological care of my
daughter."

"Besides being remarkably kind, she treats her with the utmost in respect and consideration.

With other providers, I was left to navigate her medication on my own. With Dr. Rubin, she has been
heavily involved in overseeing her medication, which is such a relief. Beyond medication, she has also provided us with many other helpful suggestions that continue to improve my daughter's wellbeing."

—Tom W.

“Dr. Arielle Rubin was pivotal in helping our daughter."

"Our daughter was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 5. Around the age of 8 we started seeing very concerning behaviors that we didn’t think were related to her autism.

Dr. Rubin, knowing so much about autism disorder, was
quickly able to determine what was really going on. Within 2 months our daughter was back to being
happy and vibrant!"

About Dr. Rubin

Wellness graphic

As a child psychiatrist, trained autism specialist, and sibling of autism, my mission is to provide clarity, confidence, and calm to families navigating life with autism.

In my 10+ year career I have helped over 200 families and individuals with autism ranging from toddlerhood to adulthood. Well before my professional career, I was my brother’s communicator, interpreter, playmate, and advocate.

As a child I was surrounded by neurodiversity, I engaged in therapeutic and structured play groups as a neurotypical peer and learned so much from those experiences. Growing up, I experienced first-hand the wonderful and far-reaching effects that a multi-disciplinary team of teachers, doctors, therapists, and extended family had on my brother and by extension me and the rest of my family.

However, as I got older, I realized that not everyone on the spectrum receives the comprehensive array of services that my brother had. I decided to dedicate my career to helping individuals with autism thrive. Professionally, I have given talks on autism symptoms and the sibling experience at conferences. I have worked in the autism space as an ABA therapist, psychiatrist, and sibling advocate for over 10 years. After I completed my undergraduate degree, I decided to go to medical school to become a psychiatrist to help families and patients coordinate the health sector of the autism space and treat associated mental health struggles.

My Mission

I help parents of autistic individuals create sustainable systems that allow them and their child to thrive by providing evidence-based, comprehensive, and strengths-based education and tools without placing guilt or blame on parents, or leaving parents unsure of what to believe, or grouping together all autistic individuals.

The Road to Autism Roadmaps

Everything I teach about, I also have experienced on a personal level.

My brother was on the autism spectrum. We were very close in age and emotionally bonded. I know how the triumphs and heartbreaks feel. I learned how to maintain calm through stress, and find relief and accomplishments in the tiniest wins.

My calling as a psychiatrist and teacher feels natural to me because of my bond with Andy.

Andy is my meaning and inspiration in life. He suddenly passed in 2021 at the age of 28. I strive to honor his legacy with my work as an autism specialist. After his passing, I took time to reflect on his life and everything he taught me about living life to the fullest with autism. How could I integrate those lessons, and all of my professional experience and training?

Finally, my vision developed into an accessible online community disseminating real information to families coming together to maximize potential and happiness for individuals on the spectrum: Autism Roadmaps.
