Community Guidelines

Welcome to Autism Roadmaps, where we provide a dedicated space for individuals and families to connect, learn, and support each other on their autism journey. Our mission is to empower our community members with mentorship, courses, trainings, and resources, ensuring that our actions align with our vision and purpose.

1. Understanding Our Community Guidelines:
Our community guidelines are designed to ensure clarity, specificity, and mutual respect among all users. By following these guidelines, you contribute to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone involved. Please familiarize yourself with the following rules and expectations:

*Confidentiality, Privacy and Personal Information: Protect the privacy of others; do not share personal information without consent. Members are encouraged to engage in open and honest conversations, sharing insights, challenges, and successes. However, this openness comes with an implicit understanding that the confidentiality of these exchanges is paramount. The strength of our community lies in the shared trust that binds us together.

*Intellectual Property: Respect copyright laws; do not share unauthorized content. All materials shared by Dr. Arielle Rubin in this community platform are for current Autism Roadmaps Community Members only.

*Engagement with Content: Engage respectfully with content and fellow users; constructive criticism is encouraged, but attacks or derogatory comments are not acceptable.

*No sharing of personal log-ins and private resources: Maintaining the integrity of this community requires a collective commitment to privacy. As mentioned, sharing resources provided here outside of the community is a violation of our guidelines. Should you wish to share a resource with someone, please reach out directly to Dr. Arielle at [email protected] for permission. Any violation of this guideline may result in immediate removal from the community.

*Spam or Self-Promotion: Avoid excessive self promotion or spamming within the community. If you are found to be in violation of this guideline you will be asked to discontinue that behavior by administrators and may be removed from the community if the behavior continues.

*Hate Speech and Harassment: Respectful communication is very important; hate speech, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or other targeted attacks will not be tolerated.

*Illegal Activity: Any activity that violates the law is strictly prohibited.

2. Setting the Tone: We emphasize kindness, respect, and inclusivity in our interactions. Our community values differing viewpoints and promotes open dialogue in a welcoming atmosphere. Let's work together to build a space where everyone feels valued and supported. Examples of behavior that create the vibe we’re after include:
  • Commenting on others’ introductions when you read them
  • Using inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Focusing on what is best for the overall community
  • Showing empathy towards other community members
3. Reporting Violations: If you encounter a violation of our guidelines, please report it promptly to either Arielle Rubin or Kat Nisson. You can use direct messaging within the community for this. We are committed to addressing concerns promptly and maintaining a safe environment for all members.

4. Enforcement Policies: To uphold our community standards, we have established enforcement policies that include:
  • Removal of inappropriate content and communication with the user regarding the violation.
  • Transparent moderation processes, where community members and moderators collaborate to ensure compliance.
  • Suspension or ban protocols for severe or repeated infractions.

5. Regular Review and Updates: Our guidelines are dynamic and subject to  periodic review. As our community evolves, we will revisit and update these policies to better serve our users' needs and uphold our shared values. Your feedback and insights are invaluable in shaping the ongoing development of our community guidelines.

Thank you for being a part of the Autism Roadmaps Community. Together, we can create a supportive and empowering environment for individuals and families affected by autism!
